Mother’s Day

May 10, 2020

Lately I have had a lot of time to think (most of us have). Naturally we all think about being quarantined because of the pandemic and how we will handle everything. Life is a bit tougher than it was a few months ago.

Most of my friends have a partner. I am the single one in the group. They have a eachother to count on to pick them up if they are sad or tackle project together. As a woman living by her self, there are many times I have to tackle projects alone, sit at the table for meals alone or try to pick myself up when I’m sad. In fact, at first, I was a bit angry, dismanteling swing sets with sawzels, opening pools, and spreading mulch in the yard, they weren’t suppose to be “my job”. Over time I realized how therapeutic these actions were, not to mention how satisfying it was at the end of the day to sit back and say “I did that”. I am sure you will agree, running a house hold is not easy to begin with. We all know there is work to be done and tough decisions that have to be made.

But here is the thing that I have realized. I am NOT alone. I have my beautiful children that I teach every single day with my strength AND vulnerability. I have AMAZING family, someone special and friends that if I need them, would be right by my side. We are ALL stronger than we think and we AREN’T alone. Don’t wait for affirmations. Instead TEACH by example to those around you. That goes for EVERYONE. We don't always give ourselves enough credit. Give YOURSELF the credit. Give YOURSELF the affirmations. NEVER diminish the strength that you have found inside of you to tackle the issues that come your way, single or not.

So today on Mother’s Day and everyday, I will raise my mimosa to you and tell each of you that you are AMAZING. Be STRONG because you have a choice to be strong and in control of your life and it’s direction. Be sad if you need to be, pick up that phone if you don’t want to be alone at the moment. And always, always remember you are LOVED and are someone’s daughter, sister, wife, aunt, grandmother, friend or Mom!!!

Happy Mother’s Day to All!!!❤️
